Abstract
This paper discusses a controller logic for a hybrid field-oriented and direct torque controller, which controls the speed and torque of a BLDC motor drive. The suggested control logic eliminates the implementation challenges while combining the benefits of both Field Oriented Control (FOC) and Direct Torque Control (DTC) methods. A three-phase, two-level inverter with a hall sensor to determine the position of the rotor, switches the current flowing through a coil in a BLDC motor. The controller logic makes the selection of a DTC- FOC hybrid controller based on a threshold value. Using MATLAB simulation, the motor performance has been analyzed with the help of a DTC-FOC hybrid controller technique.
