Abstract
Changes in the pulse waveform, and pulse wave velocity may add clinically valuable information due to their close relationship with both morphological and functional changes in the cardiovascular system. However, the utility of the techniques is both operator dependent and time consuming. We aim to develop a user-friendly solution for peripheral artery pulse assessment in the foot, by employing electrical impedance plethysmography. Using the combination of a flexible electrode and thermoplastic 3D printing, we produced a prototype electrode strap for electrical impedance plethysmography of the dorsalis pedis artery. Herein, we present the construction of this prototype and its first realization.
