Abstract
This paper is presenting a new simulation framework and methodology to be used for validation of complex end-to-end simulations of telecommunication systems, including application to physical layer functionalities. This necessity comes along with the validation of complex communication schemes at all layers of the protocol stack and inter-working between the layers themselves. Two main goals have been considered for developing the tool: 1) Allowing interoperability between several COTS tools for accelerating simulations development by using the more suited tools related to each component of the simulation; 2) Allowing parallel execution of the time consuming simulations to reduce validation schedules, possibly with different operating systems. COTS software’s primary addressed are C/C++, Matlab, Simulink and Opnet that are heavily used in the telecommunication area for stand alone simulations. The framework applies to processing of simulations over a local area network.
