Abstract
In today's society, the key focus is on improving the quality and performance of various urban services by transitioning to intelligent and smarter automated systems. The number of automobiles on the road has increased dramatically over the years. The problem of traffic congestion on highways, traffic rule violations, and fatal road accidents is increasing at an alarming rate every year. The current article is about creating an IoT-based Smart Traffic Controlling System that can assist in overcoming numerous challenges associated with a traditional Traffic Control System.A smart traffic monitoring system can be used to closely monitor and solve a variety of traffic issues, such as assessing traffic density, monitoring vehicle speed, and detecting traffic jams or accidents. This IoT based system collects compatible real-time data essential to assess and troubleshoot various common traffic-related problems, as well as device location. Data acquired by the system is transmitted in real time to the Road Transport Authority (RTA) and, if necessary, to the nearest hospital and police station. This results in a speedy and efficient resolution of the problem. The suggested Smart Traffic System can substantially assist in preventing accidents and ensuring smooth operation of traffic signals and lights on the roads. This ensures the safety of all individuals on the roads and can also assist in better management of increasing traffic. Furthermore, the system can help in reducing the amount of time cars remain idle during red lights, which can help to reduce emissions.
