Abstract
The method of lines (MOL) integrated with a new cascaded segment technique has been developed to study S-bend structure. In this paper, the function of S-bend is approximated by cascading a number of uniform bend segments. Perfectly Matched Layer (PML) is applied as absorber for MOL to reduce reflection to the computational window. Analysis is done by calculating loss incurred by the S-bend for different multiple segment where the total loss is summation of losses in each segment. The result of loss in this analysis is compared to the commercial software and it is found that the two results give similar answer.
