Abstract
An NTSC RS-170 standard image of a dynamic scene usually exhibits a 60-Hz flicker when displayed on a CRT. This is because the two interlaced fields of the image are captured 1/60 of a second apart, and the scene has changed slightly in that interval. It is shown how a shift between the two fields of a time-varying image can be accurately measured and corrected using optical flow techniques of image processing. Experimental results illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed field-shift correction algorithm.ETX
