Abstract
THE SELECTION OF coatings for use in nuclear power plants is based upon requirements for normal operations as well as established accident requirements. Coating manufacturers evaluate materials in accordance with current standards to determine radiation resistance, decontamination properties, and service ability under design basis accident conditions. Other criteria for the testing, selection, and application of coatings in nuclear power plants are defined in ANSI and ASTM documents (references to be given).
