Abstract
Eight known compounds were isolated from the roots of Potentilla anserina L. (Rosaceous). These compounds included two steroids, 3-sitosterol (1), daucosterol (2), and six triterpenoids, ursolic acid (3), pomolic acid (4), euscaphic acid (5), tormentic acid (6), rosamultin (7) and kaji-ichigoside Fl (8). Their structures were determined on the basis of spectroscopic analysis and chemical evidence. Except for 3-sitosterol, the other seven compounds were isolated for the first time from this plant.
