Abstract
To screen surfactants suitable for chemical flooding of heavy oil, this study systematically evaluated seven surfactants. With heavy oil from Liaohe Oilfield Overseas River Block as the research object, the viscosity reduction, emulsification, static oil washing, interfacial tension, and compatibility of different surfactants were examined. The results showed that the self-developed FSP surfactant demonstrated overall superior performance, with viscosity reduction up to 99.11%, strongest emulsification, oil washing rate of 62%, and interfacial tension as low as 0.12 mN/m, as well as good compatibility with formation water. The other surfactants underperformed compared to FSP in all evaluation indices. Comprehensive assessment results suggest that FSP surfactant is an efficient surfactant applicable for chemical flooding of heavy oil, laying the foundation for subsequent application studies.
