In recent years, the digital industry has received increasing attention, and it often appears in the work reports of governments at all levels. As one of the main forces of the digital industry, the metaverse has received increasing attention from enterprises, academia, and governments in recent years. Jiangsu Province has strong economic and scientific research capabilities, and has many scenarios for applying the metaverse. Therefore, it has a unique foundation and conditions for developing the metaverse industry. Starting from the definition of the metaverse, this article analyzes the advantageous conditions for Jiangsu to develop the metaverse industry, explores some scenarios for the development of the metaverse in Jiangsu, and particularly points out some challenges that Jiangsu will encounter in developing the metaverse industry.
