Background: This study evaluated the effects of a adopting a case management model (CMM) on the care and survival of lymphoma patients. Materials and Methods: In this retrospective study, 212 lymphoma patients were recruited between January 2012 and December 2016. The experimental group comprised 115 patients who received care according to a CMM. A case manager coordinated recruitment, liaison, and care plan implementation and conducted disease education, telephone consultations, follow-ups, and evaluations. The control group comprised 97 patients with similar characteristics as those in the experimental group and who received routine care. Results: Adopting a CMM in lymphoma care increased patient follow-up appointment compliance rates at 3 months (p = 0.007) and effectively reduced the 14-day readmission rate (p = 0.05); these improvements were found to be statistically significant. The survival rate for patients receiving care according to the CMM was higher than that of patients receiving routine care. Conclusions: Adopting a CMM in lymphoma care effectively improved adherence to clinical treatment, increased the survival rate, and reduced the 14-day readmission rate. The results of this study may be valuable for medical institutions promoting a CMM for lymphoma care and could lead to improvements in cancer patient care, thus ultimately enhancing health-care quality.
