Abstract
G. W. Wang, H. K. Li, A. C. Liu and C. T. Tsai: Nutrition and fatty acid composition of dog plasma lipid fractions. Chinese J.Physiol.,20(3)223-228,1969.-Lipid fractions varied in dog plasma on a better and a poorer diet. The amplitude of change had been found to be greater in the plasma of poorly nourished dogs than in that of better nourished dogs. The palmitate C16:0, stearate C18:0 and oleate C18:1 of the fatty acid composition of the six principle fatty acids was more pronounced than the other three, myristate C14:0, palmitoleateC16:1 and lenoleate C18:2 and varied with a possible different pattern for each fraction and according to each diet. It is thus assumed that dietary fat may inhibit the plasma parameters including the lipid fraction and that variation of fatty acid composition in each fraction may be related with diet.
