Hypothyroidism and lipid metabolism in some rat tissues, Chinese J.Physiol.,20(1):33-43,1967.-A study was made on thyroidectomy(TE)and lipid metabolism in several rat tissues. Due to incomplete removal, the rats in most of the cases were in hypothyroid state. Enough time after the first operation was allowed before an observation or a further operation was done. Triiodothyronine(T3)treatment of TE rat with hypothalamic lesioning(HL)reduced the body weight mainly from the adipose tissue fat while force-feeding(F)in TE rat led to glycogen accumulation in the liver with some reduction of total lipid and triglyceride in the perirenal fat.
