Abstract
The purpose of this study is to explore the application of Teaching Games for Understanding (TGfU) in a college tennis course. The research method used content analysis to conduct qualitative research, collecting data from 34 students enrolled in the college tennis course. The study aimed to understand the implementation process of TGfU in the tennis course, students' learning performance, and their opinions on this teaching method. The results of the research one as follow: 1. TGfU integrates multimedia resources, games, and competitions into the process, making it more engaging and motivating for students to participate in practice, while also providing appropriate guidance and space for students to think independently. It helps to cultivate students' problem-solving and self-reflection abilities and can increase their classroom participation, enjoyment of learning, and sense of accomplishment. 2. Students have a positive view of TGfU that believe that integrating games and competitions into the process makes the learning experience more enjoyable, motivates students to actively engage in practice and fosters team spirit and interpersonal relationships. Based on the research results, the following suggestions are: 1. Design a variety of games and simple competitions suitable for college students. 2. Conduct more research of TGfU in college's tennis courses. 3. Expand the research of TGfU in other college sports courses.
