Abstract
For solving the labor shortage, automation of rice post-harvest systems, including weighing, drying, handling, storage, aeration, husking, polishing, and packing, has promote 1990 under the government policy. The rice post-harvest handling systems were planned and controlled by two personal computers. Monitoring devices were applied to sense the handling processes. Were connected with-a PLC, and with a personal computer in a control room. To promote the communication and training with workers of farmer's association, a simulation system was also set up at Department of Agricultural Machinery Engineering, National Taiwan University. Automatic systems cooperated with Ta-Chia and Hsin-Ying Farmer's Association would be expected to finish within 2 and 3 years respectively.
