Abstract
The input of agricultural production factors such as fertilizers, pesticides, and agricultural irrigation has led to an increase in greenhouse gas emissions. Organic farming can increase carbon storage in soil. However, there is a lack of trust among the public in the traceability certification of organic agricultural products. On the other hand, with the emergence of green consumption, consumers will have higher requirements for traceability of the carbon footprint of organic agricultural products in the future. This paper proposes the design of organic agricultural product certification and carbon footprint traceability system based on blockchain. The design of the traceability system uses Scratch and builds a user platform through App Inventor. From the perspectives of planting, warehousing and processing, logistics, sales, and traceability, this study designs information input operations suitable for each role in the circulation of organic agricultural products. By utilizing the immutability of blockchain technology and combining visual interfaces with blockchain technology, the gap in the experimental stage of scholars' research on blockchain technology for agricultural product quality traceability certification has been filled. This has improved the convenience of consumers' traceability operations for organic agricultural products, and increased their trustworthiness for organic agricultural product traceability certification and carbon footprint tracking. The results of this study are beneficial for the innovative development of agricultural sustainability.
