Acute kidney injury is increasingly recognized around the world. Patients with critical illnesses often have multi-organ failure, including kidney failure. The mortality rate is especially high in these patients. Continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) is often used in hemodynamically unstable patients. The technology of CRRT has advanced much recently. In order to improve the quality and care of critically ill patients, we set up a CRRT team. This article describes this team's goals, training programs, and standard operation protocols. Improvements in some CRRT quality indicators were also reported.
