Abstract
Open refrigerated display cabinets in convenience stores or supermarkets have the problem of poor temperature and power consumption caused by the leakage of cold air. Although the installation of doors is simple and effective, it does not meet domestic consumer's needs. A solution that does not affect the convenience of shopping is needed. This study proposed a louver curtain structure that is attached to an open refrigerated display cabinets. When there is no consumer, the transparent blades are closed to reduce the leakage of cold air; when consumers approach, the blades are opened which does not affect the convenience of shopping. Different blade sizes and numbers are simulated, and the Thermal Entrainment Factor (TEF) is used as the performance indicator. The louver curtain size with the best TEF was selected to make the prototype for the experiment, and the experiment was carried out in the environmental control laboratory with reference to the CNS test standard. Compared with open refrigerated display cabinets, the louver curtain structure can reduce the core temperature of the warmest temperature test package from 20.1℃ to 11.6℃, and the average power consumption is also reduced from 991W to 703W, saving about 29% of power consumption.
