Abstract
This article takes Babbe Cole's 'Princess Smartypants' as the research text, citing reception aesthetics as the main mirror, combining the thinking of image symbols and social imagination, to reveal that under this perspective, the structure of text calling can guide readers to read the text, From multi-angle and multi-level aspects, let your imagination run wild, and participate in the interpretation of text symbols and the recreation of social meaning. By exploring the acceptance process of textual image symbols, this paper explains that the image symbols in 'Princess Smartypants' have a social process from 'structure' to 'deconstruction' and then to 'construction', and at the same time explain the full echo of its image meaning Contemporary gender equality awareness and the active significance of women's self-exploration, and finally summarize the position of this article: the meaning of the work is not only given by the author, or included in the work itself, but also supplemented and enriched by readers. Exploring the interpretation and acceptance of image symbols in picture books from the perspective of acceptance aesthetics brings us a new thinking about reading, and also a journey of dialogue with artistic symbols and a journey of social imagination.
