Abstract
The purpose of this study is to explore the quality and related factors of workplace health promotion in Taiwan. The study samples were collected from companies certified as health-promoting workplaces in three counties of northern Taiwan. This study utilized a structured questionnaire for data collection. A total of 39 valid questionnaires were obtained with a response rate of 63%. The results showed that: (1) the quality of policy management for workplace health promotion was the highest in all of the dimensions, followed by health promotion planning and quality management, human resources and its environment, implementation and evaluation for workplace health promotion. (2) The number of departments, the number of members in a health-promotion committee, and whether the committee spans over different divisions of the company are three variables that appear to affect the quality of workplace health promotion significantly. This study suggests enhancing the capability of health promotion plans execution in workplaces, and more research on modifications of laws and regulations on work place health promotion are required. Furthermore, the following researches are needed in the future: to explore the predictive factors for the quality of health promotion in the workplace, as well as the correlation between partnerships and the quality of health promotion in the workplace.
