Abstract
Public library is the place where children acquire information and knowledge. An ideal children library can adapt to children's need, help children explore the world through reading. This study points out that when designing children space, we should pay attention to nine principles: (1) open space; (2) subject; (3) lively furniture; (4) bright; (5) use of different age groups; (6) isolating sound; (7) simple and lively marking; (8) durable and easy to maintain; (9) safety. In order to attract children to the library to use space and collection resources, library can use color to make the space lively, create a variety of comfortable spaces, and create a relaxed atmosphere that allows users to feel comfortable. This study has compiled nine spatial planning and design principles as a reference for public library to plan children's library space and furniture in the future.
