Abstract
the article reviews advances in the understanding of glaucoma and considers the nuances of lowering intraocular pressure (IOP) to enhance the ophthalmologist's ability to care for glaucoma patients. Topics discussed include IOP-lowerng medical trials, the role of corneal thickness and the corneal hysterisis factor. Also mentioned are innovations in optical coherence tomography (OCT), laser peripheral iridology and detecting glaucoma in the macula.
