Abstract
An encyclopedia entry for the Fighting Waterholes massacre in Australia is presented. This is the second massacre of the Konongwootong Gunditj clan by the Whyte brothers. The first massacre, known as Fighting Hills, had taken place less than a month earlier. In 1843 George Robinson learned that the Aboriginal peoples had killed a European named Bassett, who was employed at the Whytes' station, in revenge for the Fighting Hills and Fighting Waterholes massacres.
