Abstract
The article provides information on a discovered cashbook that contains accounts for the construction of Charlemont House at Palace Row and the Casino at Marino in Dublin, Ireland, which were built for James Caulfeild, 1st Earl of Charlemont. This manuscript reveals that the largest payments made by the earl to an individual were those to Simon Vierpyl, one of the craftsmen for the buildings.
