Abstract
The author presents a tribute to his uncle, U.S. Army retired Master Sergeant Paul B. Miller, who died in 2009 at the age of 89 and whom he considers as an American hero. He cites some highlights of the military career of his uncle, including his getting into combat in North Korea. His uncle was taken prisoner by North Koreans and the Chinese regular Army. In his book "When Hell Froze Over," William Shadish talked about how Miller helped many prisoners to stay alive.
