Abstract
The article presents several news briefs concerning the Great Lakes. The article reports that July 19, 2008 marked the 100th annual Chicago Yacht Club Race to Mackinac, Michigan. A bill setting aside $210,000 toward the restoration of the Lorain Lighthouse has been passed in Ohio. An Acoustic Doppler Profiler was installed at Grand Haven State Park in Michigan. The profiler was installed by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. The article also mentions the Coast Guard Festival which is open to the public.
