Abstract
The article presents an overview of the proper assessment and management of acute and chronic whiplash associated disorders that result from automobile accidents. A discussion of of chronic pain and disability which frequently follows whiplash injury and contributes substantially to personal and economic costs related to whiplash injury is presented.
