Abstract
The double cycloaddition of 1,1-bis(3,5-dimethylfur-2-yl)ethane to diethyl (E,E)-4-oxohepta-2,5-diene-1,7-dioate gave a single bis-adduct, the hydroboration of which with IpcBH 2allows the creation of optically active polycyclic systems that are potential precursors of long-chain polypropionate fragments.
