Abstract
The article talks about the hard-to-get, hard-to-grow hostas of Dr. Ralph and Dorothy Benedict. It presents hostas Hideko Gowen and Jim Wilkins hosta breeds which are slow growers inspite of the care they are given. It recommends the use of fresh soil, Osmocote or Scotts Sierra Blend fertilizer, potting mix with moisture-control granules and fungicide to grow them.
