Abstract
The article offers information on the development of Buyid silk from Iran. Islamic arts on textile that originated from the medieval period are commonly known as the Buyid silk. Buyid silk feature inscriptions on the whole corpus of the textile. Art historians and museums noted inconsistencies between the inscribed texts and purported date of the textile. Study on Buyid silk revealed that the textile could be assigned to four periods ranging from medieval to the modern period. Radiocarbon testing determined the age of silk textiles.
