Abstract
The article describes a method proposed in recovering the deleted files on a UNIX operating system based file system. It says that the existing method deletes the file by marking its directory record "deleted," while inode and data blocks are not freed. The recovery of file will take place by clearing the "deleted" mark in the film's directory record. In the proposed method, the drawbacks of the existing method has been addressed by manipulating record length field of the entry.
