Abstract
The article presents viscous flow calculations around the hull of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage floating terminal with large horizontal skirts at keel level. It develops a method for viscous flow calculations around transverse sections of the hull that was subjected to forced heave and roll motions as well as to corresponding decay tests. It offers predictions of the hydrodynamic loads based on computational fluid dynamics (CFD) solutions of the Navier-Stokes equations.
