Abstract
In areas co-endemic for Plasmodium vivaxand Plasmodium falciparumthere is an increased risk of P vivaxparasitaemia following P falciparummalaria. Radical cure is currently only recommended for patients presenting with P vivaxmalaria. Expanding the indication for radical cure to patients presenting with P falciparummalaria could reduce their risk of subsequent P vivaxparasitaemia.
