Abstract
ABSTRACTThe antibacterial, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory potential of Rhodobryum roseumextracts in organic solvents was investigated. The highest contents of total phenols, flavonoids, and antioxidants have been found in methanolic extract. Escherichia coliand Listeria monocytogeneswere sensitive to the extracts, while Bacillus subtilisand Klebsiella pneumoniaewere resistant. Anti-inflammatory potential of methanolic extract was assessed in the LPS-induced RAW 264.7 macrophage cell lines. The GC-MS of methanolic extract showed the predominance of phenolic acids, fatty acids and phytosterols, while terpenoids and flavonoids were identified by LC-MS analysis. FTIR confirmed the presence of O-H, C-H, C-N, C-F and SCN functional groups.
