Abstract
The author discusses the second Scottish record of Brown-headed Cowbird observed on Fair Isle from May 8-10, 2009. The features of the species include a head with a milk chocolate brown colour and a very slightly darker colour on the cheeks, around the eyes and on the lores, and a body with a more thrush-like shape and an entirely black colour with a glossy green sheen. The species status in Scotland is also described.
