Abstract
The article discusses the 1930 translation of the novel "The Comedy of Errors," called "Diphosho-phosho," by Sol Plaatje, which means mistakes upon mistakes. His translations of Shakespeare reportedly aimed to reactivate the playwright's oral elements that were absent from English evaluation of his works. In this play, it is stated that Plaatje sought to propagate a unique synthesis of tradition and modernity within his own setting and used the most natural Setswana equivalent of the English version.
