Abstract
The article discusses art that was stolen during World War II and entered the U.S. undetected. The efforts of the U.S. toward restitution of the looted art to the owners are also discussed. Many looted art objects have been traced, but some are still missing. Routes of entry and restitution include U.S. Customs, the U.S. Postal Service, and the Office of the Military Government for Germany, U.S. (OMGUS). The article discusses the laws and measures preventing looted art from entering the U.S. through each of these routes, as well as the flaws in these measures.
