Abstract
The Caenorhabditis elegansprotein SAS-5, which is essential for the assembly of centriole organelles, associates with microtubules. Microtubule binding by SAS-5 employs an avidity mechanism, which depends on SAS-5 multimerization. The SAS-5-microtubule interaction contributes to robust centriole formation.
