Abstract
The article presents a case study of a bull persistently infected with Border disease virus in New Zealand. It describes the diagnostic investigation and clinical findings of a 3-year old bull that was seropositive for bovine viral diarrhoea virus (BVDV). It implies that cattle with persistent BVD infection could act as a source of viral infection for other cattle, while testing for BVDV could be enhanced by using tests to detect BVD.
