Abstract
The article discusses the effect of Global Economic Crisis in the world. The author notes that human economic growth presents the greatest threat to life on Earth, due to the reasons that economic growth makes air pollution, oceanic and fresh water pollution, and ozone depletion. It is stated that humans can still avoid the catastrophe by doing immediate and substantial reductions in carbon emissions, having a long term goal and commitment to limit growth, and an end to unfettered consumerism.
