Abstract
The article studies the accumulation of the diatoms Anaulus australis and Asterionellopsis glacialis species complex in the low-latitude sand beaches in Bahia, eastern Brazilian coast. It discusses the environmental data of study area, sampling of surf-zone diatoms and use principal component analysis (PCA) to understand the trend. Dark patches, high chlorophyll concentration and high nutrient contents were observed at Cururupe beach.
