Abstract
The article discusses research on the ability of indigenous sheep breed Kenguri maintained in a farm at Veterinary College in Bidar, India to produce meat. Carcass and non-carcass traits, carcass yield and chemical composition of meat were some of the parameters studied. The breed's slaughter weight was found to be higher compared with that of Deccani sheep. The dry matter, crude protein and ash in meat of 12-month-old male lamp were comparable to Malpura lambs.
