Abstract
This study investigated the relationship between measures of oxygen uptake efficiency slope (OUES) and all-cause mortality in a cohort of apparently healthy adults. The OUES is related to all-cause mortality in apparently healthy males but not in females. These findings suggest that a determination of OUES has prognostic utility in males.
