Abstract
•People with MS or NMO in the American Academy of Neurology Axon registry were subjects.•The Axon registry had missing data for race and ethnicity in >15 % of subjects.•>30 % of subjects also contributed data to American Academy of Ophthalmology's IRIS registry.•Combining demographic data from the two registries reduced missing data.•Visual function (from the IRIS registry) was worse in people with NMO than MS.
