Abstract
The principles underlying correlations of charge transfer energies for related metal complexes are examined in light of data that have become available in recent years. As a consequence, the charge transfer absorption band of Co(CN)3-6 at 50,600 cm-1 is assigned to a σ(CN) → do*Co) transition.
