Abstract
The article identifies the factors which contribute to the infection of Colletotrichum acutatum causing summer rots in apples. Results of laboratory investigations reveal that the infection is dependent to the temperature leading into the conclusion that infection before summer does not occur because they only attack fruits during high temperatures. The results offer agriculturists better avenue for the development of ideas to improve management and prevention of infection.
