Abstract
In the fourth edition of the Geology of Sweden (Sveriges Geologi) the author has, as in earlier editions, placed the Jotnian and Subjotnian rocks among the Algon-kian formations. After having given licence to print the section about the Precambrian the author received two papers that convinced him that the Jotnian and Subjotnian rocks must be older, between about 1500 and 1300-1200 million years. They must therefore belong to the Gothian-Dalslandian time. The only Algonkian rocks in Sweden are the Eocambrian.
