Effect of Thin Film to Boost the Electrochemical Properties of LiMn1.5Ni0.5O4

Abstract
Micrometer-grade spherical LiMn1.5Ni0.5O4(LMNO) particles with a uniform particle size distribution were synthesized by a carbonate coprecipitation method in a continuous stirred tank reactor. LMNO particles were modified by the FeF3nanoscale thin film. TheFeF3-coated electrodes display superior electrochemical performance at various C rates and temperatures. The FeF3-coated LMNO also had improved thermal and structural stability. The increase in performance is due to the protective effect of the coating layer.
