Abstract
The article focuses on the formulation of general transfer function from fracture to matrix reservoir in dual-porosity and dual-permeability models. The formulation sums a saturation-dependent term and model fluid expansion term with the transfer function treated as function of pressure and saturation to arrive at the resultant transfer function. The transfer function was simulated in 1-dimension and 2-dimension fine-grid with constant fracture saturation and pressure, which results are compared to the prediction of average matrix saturation and production. It was found that the transfer rate was able to predict accurately the behavior of expansion and displacement.
