Abstract
The article offers information on a study which evaluated the properties of avian influenza virus (AIV) H9N2 Israeli isolates to generate knowledge for risk assessments and AIV control in poultry. It assesses the effect of temperature in conjunction with moderate pHs on the viability of the three AIV isolates belonging to H9N2 genetic subgroups. A brief review of the related literature is presented. Materials and methods used included preparation of the AIV isolates for viability assessment and determinination of embryo infectious dose per milliliter. A discussion on the findings is detailed.
